Old lang syne
‘Twas the night before Christmas
I saw three ships come sailing in
Then all the bells on earth shall ring
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day,
Then all the souls on earth shall sing.
On Christmas Day in the morning.
I saw three ships come sailing in,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day,
Then let us all rejoice again,
On Christmas Day in the morning.
Abigail Rose
One year ago today my beautiful granddaughter, Abigail Rose, was born. She celebrated on Sunday with all of her closest family and friends.
She was born with a cleft lip/cleft palate and has undergone two major surgeries since her birth. The first in June when she had her lip and nose done and the second in September when she had her palate repaired.
Sweet little thing has been quite a trooper and has every reason to celebrate!
I can’t get enough of that smile!

Thanksgiving prep
Making the shopping list.
Pulling out the old recipes from the wooden recipe box.
We’re having an upstairs/downstairs Thanksgiving this year. Mum is doing the dinner downstairs in her apartment and I am doing appetizers and dessert upstairs in our apartment.
Both of my daughters will be there, along with Hannah’s roommate, my son-in-law, and my grandchildren. My sister and her fiancé will also be there but her grown children will be visiting their father this year. My brother and his fiancé will be here for dessert. We will have to be sure to have plenty of ice cream on hand for my brother! It’s his one weakness.
Thanksgiving has not always been my favourite holiday. This year, however, it seems so dear.
Red Tuesday
Turning toward home
Our house has been going through renovations since July and they have finally finished for the season!
We have new windows, new siding and a beautiful paint job. We will be getting a new front door before Thanksgiving and it will be a brick red colour. In the spring they will be replacing the railings as well.
I happened to glance up while walking home from the market and noticed how pretty everything looked.
